Samsung Galaxy M20
Samsung recently announced the M10 and M20 duo and while both smartphones are basically the in the budget segment, the Samsung Galaxy M20 did take things a little further when it comes to their specifications. The Samsung Galaxy M20 has a slightly bigger screen, bigger battery capacity, uses a better SoC and comes in bigger configurations just to name. Let’s see what’s else the Samsung Galaxy M20 has to offer.
Design And Display
This device sports a big 6.3-inch display with what Samsung calls the “Infinity V-display” which basically means a V-shaped notch. The display has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340, a pixel per inch density of 409 and obviously a 19:9 aspect ratio.
At the back is the dual camera setup with an LED flash underneath and the fingerprint sensor sited comfortably at the centre (something that is missing on the Samsung Galaxy M10). Samsung Galaxy M10 comes in two colours; Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black. The device weighs 186 grams and measures 8.8mm in thickness, thanks to the massive battery on the inside.
Samsung Galaxy M20 Camera Review
We have a total of three cameras on the Samsung Galaxy M20; two at the back and one up front. The one at the front is an 8MP camera with am f/2.0 aperture equipped with HDR and can record 1080p videos at 30fps. At the rear, there is a combination of a main 13MP camera with an f/1.9 aperture and PDAF on top a secondary 5MP depth sensor camera with an f/2.2 aperture. 1080p video recording is also possible with the rear cameras at 30fps. Features of the rear camera include an LED flash, Panorama and HDR.
Hardware and Software
Samsung’s Exynos 7904 Octa SoC powers this device which has a total of 8 cores with a clock speed of up to 1.8GHz alongside a Mali-G71 MP2 GPU for gaming. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy M10, the M20 has two configurations – 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage and a bigger 4GB RAM configuration with 64GB of internal storage. Also, both configuration’s storage can be expanded up to 512GB via the dedicated MicroSD card slot on board. The Samsung Galaxy M20 runs the not so latest Android 8.1 Oreo which has the Samsung Experience 9.5 UI slapped on top. No OneUI based on Android 9.0 Pie here, at least for now.
Battery & Network Connectivity
Samsung Galaxy M20 is packing a hefty 5,000mAh battery which should comfortably last a full day on a single charge. It is also equipped with 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, GPS, FM radio and a USB Type-C port.
Samsung Galaxy M20 Price and Availability
Starting price for the Samsung Galaxy M20 is at $170 for the base 3GB/32GB configuration and can go as high as $210 for the bigger 4GB/64GB configuration. The device has gone on sale yet but it is expected to in the coming weeks.
