Chinese original equipment manufacturer, Chuwi, popularly known for making top-quality and super affordable gadgets like tablets, laptops and other smart home appliances has officially taken the veils off its latest project — a 2-in-1 hybrid tablet.

The device, despite being beautifully built with all shades of premium-ness, is super affordable — just like any Chuwi-branded product. The Chuwi Hi10 Air is available in silver color only with its entire body made out of metal in a uni-body design that underwent the 64 manufacturing CNC processes. Without the keyboard, the Chuwi Hi10 Air weighs 522 grams weight. For a portable hybrid tablet, that’s quite heavy. However, this is due to the big-sized battery embedded within the device.
When the keyboard is attached, the base of the device at the rear is lifted to allow for easy usage of the keyboard and for a smooth typing experience. When in PC mode, the available ports on the devices are as follows:
- On the top/tablet’s body: micro HDMI, micro USB, 3.5mm headphone jack, micro SD card slot, SIM card slot, and USB Type-C.
- On the keyboard/bottom chassis: Two (2) USB 3.0 ports.
On the front, right above the display, there are LED lights for message and charging notifications. In addition, there’s a 2-megapixel webcam on the front and the same 2-megapixels shooter on the rear. The keyboard connecting docks are located on the left-hand side of the Chuwi Hi10 Air tablet. Overall, it is designed to be as minimalistic as possible yet carrying every connectivity port you could possibly need on a laptop or tablet.
Equipped with a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display, the Chuwi Hi10 Air comes with a Full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution and support for 10-point touch. The display also supports an optional stylus which is pressure-sensitive and great for sketching, drawing, and painting on the tablet.
Processor, Storage, and OS
Under the finely-polished metal body is Intel’s Cherry Trail X5 Z8350 64-bit processor. The CPU comes with four cores (Quad-core) and a base clock speed of 1.44GHz which can be boosted up to 1.92GHz. In charge of graphics is also Intel’s HD Graphics 8th-Gen graphics unit. Coupled with the CPU and GPU is the DirectX 12 which will provide robust gaming experience. Multi-tasking is also something the Chuwi Hi10 Air would handle fluently as it sports 4GB of DDR3 RAM.
The Chuwi Hi10 Air comes out of the box running the Windows 10 operating system and 64GB of built-in storage unit which can, of course, be expanded up to 64GB.
The Chuwi Hi10 Air comes with a built-in 3.7V battery with a capacity of 6,500mAh. Using the out-of-the-box 100-240V 5V3A charger, the hybrid tablet takes about 3 – 4 hours to charge and can conveniently provide up to 6 hours of runtime on video play.
